Writing messages

Attachments

Sending files — clip, paste or drop; previews, limits and retention.

Three ways to attach:

  • the clip button in the composer,
  • paste an image or file from the clipboard,
  • drag & drop onto the composer.

Images preview inline in the timeline (click to view full-size); everything else renders as a download card with name and size. Attachments also work in threads and direct messages.

Limits — maximum size, count per message, allowed types — are set by the server admin (attachment settings). Files are delivered through signed URLs — no public bucket, access checked per viewer.

If the server reclaims space — either because a file outlived its retention window or because free disk space ran low — the attachment is removed and replaced with an “Attachment removed” note. The message text stays exactly as it was.
